BRENDAN DASSEY BILLBOARDS URGE GOVERNOR EVERS TO GRANT CLEMENCY
International support for Dassey dotting the skyline in Oshkosh, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, and other locations around Wisconsin
Melbourne, Victoria, August 8th – Grass roots and international support in the fight to free Brendan Dassey came to Oshkosh, Green Bay, Manitowoc. Milwaukee and a host of other locations around Wisconsin this week. A reminder to Governor Evers to review Brendan Dassey’s clemency petition. The messaging is clear, the intent calling upon the Governor to take action.
“Last Seen Waiting on Clemency. Help Bring Brendan Home”
The billboards and messaging implore the people of Wisconsin to help bring Brendan home in support of Dassey’s fight for justice and his clemency petition. The boards have been met with great excitement from the thousands of Wisconsin citizens who continue to fight for Dassey’s petition to be reviewed on merit. We also call on the Governor to expand his arbitrary criteria that has so far precluded the Wisconsin Pardon Advisory Board from reviewing Dassey’s petition or any petition where the petitioner is filing an innocence claim.
The billboards that dot the skyline around Wisconsin are a reminder of the ground swell of support in Dassey’s clemency fight and for the Governor of Wisconsin to embrace the notion of true mercy as he has mentioned many times in media statements.
The billboards are a representation of the millions of people who have been affected by this injustice across the globe and at a local level and who will continue to ask questions of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Pardons Advisory Board until Brendan Dassey, wrongfully convicted at 16 years-of-age, is granted his freedom.
